Te Kotuku in full flight-symbolically represents the whole of creation

The Board of Directors, Ceo June Jackson, Management and staff of Manukau Urban Maori Authority Incorporated Society and Nga Whare Waatea Incorporated Society, share symbolism of both Societies logo with imagery representative of the unique blends in history, continued contribution to All Urban Maori, its community and commercial arms made to Aotearoa's traditional environment.

The uniqueness in flight as each individual stands, so also do we look at the whole of creation. Native to Aotearoa depicts Te Kotuku where from behind it's neck and wings is shaped the saddle whom served as the messenger to carry Tane. The manu should travel to the thirteenth heaven and there Tane received the taonga-gifts, of the three baskets of knowledge and two stones.

Tane returned and brought with him two stones. One stone was coloured white named 'Hukatai'. The other stone coloured red 'Rehutai' was it's name. Tane took them back to his marae and in the wharenui placed them against the wall Te Poutuarongo. A selected few or the 'chosen ones' were brought to Te Poutuarongo to study. Symbolically the white stone was swallowed, signalling to the people, a sacred learning had begun. As time went by it was the role and guidance of the Tohunga whom would initiate the last stage to study of the 'chosen one's, symbolically swallowing the red stone allowing graduation.

To move forward we acknowledge our past setting traditional facets into the excellence of Education.
