CEO

Willie Jackson (Ngati Maniapoto, Ngati Porou) is the Chief Executive of the National Urban Maori Authority, the Manukau Urban Maori Authority and UMA Broadcasting Ltd, the latter being responsible for Radio Waatea and George FM. He hosts a number of programmes on Radio Waatea, and co-hosts Radio Talkback with John Tamihere on Radio Live.

Willie provides political commentary for a range of TVNZ shows such as Good Morning and Q & A and is able to discuss politics from first-hand experience as a former MP - as leader of the Mana Motuhake Party and deputy leader of the former Alliance Party.

Prior to entering parliament, Willie was a long time union official, sports broadcaster, Maori music label executive and Urban Maori Authority negotiator.

Willie Jackson was a finalist in the Qantas Media Awards in 2004 for radio and in 2005 for his work on TV1 for Eye to Eye with Willie Jackson.
